Hello all!!
I hope you are doing well in this pretty crazy time! A lot has happened in my life the past few months and one of those being I have the opportunity to go on a three month mission trip in the Fall of 2020 through Adventures In Missions out of Gainesville, Georgia! Specifically I will be on the World Race Semesters. World Race Semesters is a 1-6 month mission trip in either one country or multiple countries I will be with a group of girls and guys and can be up to 40 people from all over the United States which is something that is so exciting!
I have known about the World Race since I was a senior in high school and have always put it at the back of my mind, but in November of last year I decided to apply because it was something that I really felt God calling me to. When I first got accepted I was supposed to go on a one month mission trip in June and then in the Fall I could transition to a three month trip if I wanted to, but my trip this summer ended up getting canceled! I really felt God calling me to defer to the Fall. Ultimately I want to get uncomfortable. I want growth and I want to go love on people and serve people in other countries.
With that being said I am so excited to tell you that I am going to be going on a three month mission trip THIS Fall! I will be going to Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua and I am so beyond excited for what God is calling me to do while I am here! I will be going to Georgia August 27th-31st for training camp and then on August 31st we will head out on the mission field and I will not be back in America until November 23rd! Now I will explain to you what I will be doing in each country and the ministry that we will be with!
Our first country we will be in is Guatemala! We will be with New Generation Centroamerica in Chichicastenango! Our main focus while we are there will be Kids Ministry, Community Outreach, Ministry in Local Schools, and Sports Ministry! Juan Peliz is the founder of this ministry and he and his wife serve the community through a food, sports, and after-school program. Their vision is to reach, equip, and send young people around the world to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ! While we are there we may be involved in kids ministry, youth and community outreach, preaching in schools, playing soccer, assisting with construction projects, and teaching English!
Our second stop will be in Honduras! We will be with Hope At Hand in Valle de Angeles! Our main focus while we are there will be Special Needs Ministry, and Kids Ministry! We will be working with many local ministries that are serving the community of Valle de Angeles! We may spend time serving at a home for adults with special needs, or working with local ministries that are serving the local children! David and Scarleth Jones is the founder of Hope At Hand and their ministry is dedicated to feeding children in public schools of Honduras and disciplining them in the Word of God!
Our final stop will be in Nicaragua! Here we will be with CIRCIN Ministry in Ometepe Island! Our main focus here will be Kids Ministry, Manual Labor, Discipleship, and Teaching English! We are going to be surrounded by the waters of Lake Nicaragua, and we will also serve alongside one of our partners on the land mass of two active volcanoes. While we are here we will be building relationships with the local community as we serve alongside CIRCIN to support the children of this isolated island community.
The purpose of this email is to not only tell you about my trip, but to also ask if you would consider joining us in prayer! Challenges may come as we prepare, and I want to ask you that you will pray for the health of our team. Also pray that through this experience we will come to know God more and the plans He has for our life, but that we will come home having a better understanding and compassion for the people of Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Please also pray for me personally, that I would be an effective and humble servant and while I prepare to spend three months out on the mission field.
Another part of our challenge in preparing for this trip is raising the support needed to fund out food, housing, travel, and supplies while we are there! We have been asked to raise $5,300 by August 11th, 2020, but my first deadline of $2,650 is on June 29th, 2020. If I can get 50 people to donate $100 each then I will be fully funded. Of course it is up to you what you donate and I would want you to ask God what He would have you do. It would truly be an honor to have you join my support team and invest into the Kingdom this way.
